Shauna studied large and small carnivores, and has been sharing her love for the natural world with students of all ages for more than 20 years. She has spent the past 17 years living at Yellowstone’s north entrance, guiding natural history, geology and ecology programs in the park.
Carolyn Bulin
Carolyn has been sharing her passion for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for over a decade. As a naturalist and certified trainer of interpretive guides, she enjoys leading field classes and teaching others the art and science of guiding. When not teaching or writing, she can be found exploring the park with her husband and daughter.

Not at all! We've designed this for folks who want to do it themselves. Our travel planners do work for guide companies unrelated to A Yellowstone Life, but recommend a range of options should you decide your interested in a tour. We do not make any commissions on services recommended. Anything our guides suggest is based on their years of experience in the park.
Is this service right for me?
Yellowstone trip planning calls are designed for people who want to do most of the planning themselves but have lots of questions. You have alot of time and money invested in your Yellowstone trip! If you want insider advice to help you plan an itinerary tailored to your trip interests, set priorities, and decide on activities, this is for you. If you are looking for someone to book all your lodging and activities, this service is NOT for you.
What do I get?
For less than the price of a dinner for 4 in a park hotel, you'll get up to 45 minutes to talk 1 on 1 in a video meeting with a local Yellowstone naturalist guide. During that time, you can ask about any and all things Yellowstone. Our guides can give you tips on where to stay and what to do, as well as answer any natural history or park questions you may have. Plenty of websites and travel agents will give you recommendations, but they're not always provided by people who actually work year-round in the park. We'll show you how to see the park like an insider.
Note that we recommend where to stay, but not specific lodging providers (unless you're staying inside the park). Lodging and transportation reservations will be your responsibility, but you'll be ready to take that on after your planning session. Our specialty is Yellowstone, but we can give suggestions for how to fit in other parks in the region (Grand Teton National Park, Glacier National Park) into your itinerary.
